Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens..

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things...

Favourite Things
My all time favourite books
The Mitford Girls - Mary S. Lovell. The Lost Art of Keeping Secrets - Eva Rice (do not be deceived by its truly awful cover, it could have been written by Nancy Mitford herself). Playing With The Grown Ups - Sophie Dahl. The Pursuit of Love (the best bookin the whole world) and Love In a Cold Climate - Nancy Mitford. I'm Bit of a Mitford fan...

My Sewing Kit
Pin Box - Chairty Shop, Edinburgh.
Green Chintz Box - £1 box, Unicorn Antiques, Edinburgh.
Red Polka Dot Tin - Cath Kidston
Yellow Chocolates Tin - Thrift Store, Bradenton, FL. Possibly the best thrift store I have ever been to but that isn't saying much because British Charity shops are rubbish.

  1. Hi :)
So I randomly found your blog (which by the way I love, you are too cute) and I see on one of your post you wrote you've been to a thrift store in Bradenton, FL??? Did you really go there?? Cause I literally live right across the bridge in Palmetto!! I would love to hear what brought you here :)

  2. Why, thank you :)

I did indeed, two years ago in April. We were staying just outside of Bradenton. I went on a massive family holiday with my boyfriend and his family. He has family friends in Tierra Verde and Bradenton was the closest place that could be found for 12 people to stay under one roof.

I don't have the faintest idea what the shop was called but it was on a street with a few other thrift stores. Next to the cutest one, selling old hat boxes and vintage fabric.

I bought the old chocolate tin (bottom of the pile), salt and pepper shakes and my boyfriend got a belt buckle. I don't have anymore pictures but I've been meaning to do a "tour of my apartment" post soon, so stay tuned?!

    Its a small world :)

  3. Small world for sure!!
Wow that's awesome! Still can't believe you came all the way here haha it blows my mind since Bradenton is a small area nothing like Orlando or Miami, FL.
But that's the great thing about this city, tons of great thrift shops all over, you just have to look for them.
So did you get a chance to go to Disney World??

And of course I'll stay tuned for your apartment tour, sounds very exciting and cant wait to see it!
