Sunday Best: Cold Hands, Warm Heart

Winter Sun

This weekend I threw a Christmas party for my dearest friends. I spent all of Saturday baking cupcakes, mince pies and other seasonal treats. Including my Candy Cane Cupcakes that were recently featured on Cellardoor's Blog.

We celebrated the Yuletide Gay, listened to old Christmas songs and drank a gin... or two. In fact, it maybe have been a few more than that because on Sunday I was in no fit state for blogging. This made me grumpy as can be because I'm a creature of habit, I like my Sundays to follow a well carved design. Sundays are for elaborate breakfasts, blogging and a roast dinner. Since this Sabbath day contained none of these rituals so today I met my beloved for coffee and an excuse to take a few pictures. Then he headed back to work and I went for a peruse through my favourite charity shops.

After such a busy weekend I wasn't in the mood for a fancy outfit so I wore my go to Tshirt from Urban Outfitters with a navy corduroy skirt that I just finished. My boyfriends vintage leather belt, my coat and scarf from this post with a couple of gold necklaces, my favourite satchel and clogs.
The low winter sun was blinding but it was still absolutely freezing, by the time we bought coffee we had both lost the feeling in our fingers are toes but atleast my nail varnish looked nice.

Whats your go to outfit?

  5. Lovely post Cait, I like your new skirt! My go to outfit is a simple A-shape (usually navy) dress, layered on a long sleeve t-shirt, very warm tights and comfortable boots. And if I have to go out, I put on a princess coat, scarf and a beret, as here in the north of Italy it gets pretty cold during winter!
That nail varnish color is very pretty, I've got a similar one from OPI but it's too dark and you can't really see the green shade ;)
Have a fantastic week, and have a cupcake for me too, they look adorable!

  9. Always such stunning photographs from you, a great go-to outfit as well. I've been eyeing that t-shirt for almost a year but still can't take the plunge as I barely wear tees. My go to is a floral dress coloured tights and a chunky cardigan.

  19. this shirt is incredible, Cait! it reminds me of a Caitlin Shearer tee I own... not for the bike, but for the simple graphic nature. Alexa Chung actually inspired that purchase. (whatayaknow, story of my life!) I do adore the bike though! I'd steal the whole outfit. ;)

  21. Your outfit is just gorgeous. Exactly what I'd love to be wearing right now (the beret and the scarf look so cosy).
And I'm sure you've been told this before, but I can't help seeing Nigella Lawson when I look at your pictures! Obviously, a more granny chic Nigella, but so pretty nonetheless :) x

  24. Candycane cupcakes washed down with a gin and tonic or five - sounds like my kind of soiree Cait! You look darling here (as per usual), I like the masculine belt in particular. My go to outfit is a black skater style dress I've had for years - perfectly nipped in at the waist, it goes with e v e r y t h i n g in my wardrobe! Lazy dressing at it's best, non? Sally x
