A few of my favourite things!

I wanted to share a few of my current favourite things because it's swiftly approaching assessment time and it will be pretty quiet around here for the next couple of weeks. It won't come as much of a surprise that my favourite things consist of hot girls with pretty cookery books, even prettier dresses and great hair. And then some great music to dance around the kitchen to, whilst making said recipes.

The perfectly formed Miss Sophie Dahl, one of my favourite authors and creator of thee best banana bread recipe ever, is to grace our screens with her very own cookery show. The Delicious Miss Dahl ( I seriously though her book's name couldn't be beaten but then she went ahead and did it). I'm salivating at the very thought! Read more over here.

As if I wasn't excited enough by Miss Dahl's programme, Miss Gizzi Erskine (of Cook Yourself Thin fame) gave us her ever so stunning book - Gizzi's Kitchen Magic. Which, of course was immediately added to my collection.
Recipes aside, isn't her hair the best? She's up there with Zooey and Barbi!

She & Him are back with Volume 2 and if In the Sun is anything to go by, its going to be just as amazing as Volume 1. Watch the video and swoon over her hair..and her dancing... and that outfit...

Sweet tba, for the third time, I feel that I may die if this dress does not come into my possession. It will be just the frock wear to wear to a wedding in Vegas!

And last but certainly not least is Wuthering Heights, The Ballet. I was a little dubious, as it is one of my favourite books, I wondered how it could possibly be done without those epic quotes. I needn't have worried, it was simply perfect and I've been religiously listening to the score ever since.

I think Spring has finally sprung.

The crocuses and daffodils have begun to bloom, M&S are selling cinnamon apple hot cross buns and I've actually left the house without wearing a hat and gloves - twice.

I think its safe to say Spring is officially here and with it comes the shift from wool coats to the humble trench.

I'm not packing up all my winter entire just yet, I'm not that optimistic. However, todays was such a lovely day so I though it was time to give my trench an airing. I've posted about this twice before and its been sitting in my wardrobe for what feels like forever but I've never actually worn it out.

You have to understand, I swooned and swooned over this darling but at £250 I had to let it go.
Then months and months later, I found it in the dregs of the Topshop sale, epically discounted with a missing button. My heart skipped a beat and I bought it without a seconds thought.

I've been trying to conquer my fear of brown, I have a perpetual fear of wearing it.
Especially next to my face!

I think it all stemmed from an article I once read, on which colour suited which complexion etc. It said (my Mother says I quote this way too often but whatever) One should not display sapphires upon a blue velvet cloth. I've always taken this to mean that since have brown hair and eyes there for I should never ever wear brown.

So in an attempt exorcise this particular demon, I went all out and piled it all on together. I don't think it turned out so bad. I especially like the brown shoes and grey tights, the idea of which was expressly stolen from Miss Alexa Chung's collection for Madewell.

I think I've overcome my fear, just so long as it isn't next to my face.

What do you think of the old Sapphire/Blue Velvet quote?
Are there any colours that fill you with fear?
