I couldn't resist posting these pictures, they so perfectly sum up my love of bicycles. Cycling can be feminine and you can wear a skirt and heels. Infact cycling in heels is so much easier than walking in them, fact.

Aren't the girls just the cutest? I love how the outfits are matched the bikes... something I am going to be so guilty of. If I was actually ever going to cycle on the road (I stick to the cycle paths which used to be railways lines thus never come into contact with real traffic) I would buy this sailor jacket and if money were no object this bowler hat hemet but at that price you could buy a pretty nice bike never mind a hat. That said, their website is the best place to buy cute cycling accessories.

A shiny blue Poppy Pashley.

This sweet, darling love of my life came to me in a dream, I swear. I tell no lies, in that state between sleep and wake I announced to Adam "For Christmas I want a shiny red bike!" to which he proclaimed that I had to have a beat up old bike first to prove that I would actually ride it. Only when I looked on the Pashley website and saw the blue Poppy all red bikes were forgotten. Who likes red anyway? It makes the complexion appear flushed, blue is more my colour.
Anyway, this was back in winter right after my birthday, when it was snowing all the time and we had nowhere to store a bike. Only then we moved and I bought a shabby (beat up old ) Raleigh Caprice which I ride all the time thus earning the right to a shiny new Pashley. Sadly there is a 6 week waiting list because they are hand made but 5 weeks and counting...

And just for the record, if I had been fully awake I would have said 'I would like.." because thats the polite thing to say but, like I said, I tell no lies.




Waking up in Vegas, road tripping across state lines and a trip to Treasure Island.

Check out my appalling photoshop skills! I'm looking forward to making like Beyonce pool side with one gin after another. Trying not to weep while our friends tie the knot. Thrifting in the desert, thrifting in the city, buying my own weight in American cookery books and sourcing some root beer essence, I need that in my life. Basically I'm going to my fatherland to shop, drink and cry.

Its been a long time coming but I've finally started a culinary blog to tie in with my new venture, more on that later. Expect lots of cake, ravings about cookery books and scathing reviews.

How could I do anything else? All the girls want their wardrobe and all the boys want to... take them out to dinner.
I'm so often guilty of singing tunelessly to their songs and dancing around the kitchen while I should be trying out recipes. I can't wait to see them next months in my favourite venue - tiny, dark and unfit to wear nice shoes to. What is a girl to wear?

I've been cleaning out my wardrobe to make room for cold weather clothes because Autumn is coming. Did I mention I love autumn because I really do!

I'm also finally selling the clothes that I didn't get around to altering. Who knew that going down a dress size would make some many clothes unwearable?

I'm all about wearing my satchel like a backpack.

Summer is lazing around in the sun, rereading favourite books, listening to Francoise Hardy, drinking elderflower cocktails and eating bowl upon bowl of Scottish strawberries. Unfortunately I seem to have been spending more time sitting inside pursuing these summer treats, while the rain pounds against the windowpane but I'm not complaining I love rain so long as I don't have to go out in it. It provides time to listen to Classic FM, try out new recipes and sew.

This outfit pretty much sums up my summer wardrobe - dusky summer frock, denim jacket, grey tights, clogs, wayfarers and my satchel. With such changeable weather, I've become totally lazy and I just seem to switch the dress for an equally dusky one, clogs for sandals if we're graced with sun and bare legs. I can't even remember the last time I straightened my hair, I just blow dry my fringe and let it do its own thing.... lazy, lazy, lazy.

These summer staples are all pretty unexpected, I didn't get the whole clogs thing, I've never liked denim jackets, I don't like pastels; although it seems that actually I do, they just need to have a dusky tone. I've talked about my found love of the humble clog before but the denim jacket was a real step out of my comfort zone. This is ridiculous, I know... after all, its only a demin jacket. Its more casual than what I would usually go for and Miss Waldorf would never wear one but its the keystone to my summer wardrobe and I couldn't do without it. I told you before than I'm fickle...

Does anyone know where I can find a pair of tights in this particular shade of grey? I'm desperate to buy more and these are last season Topshop, long sold out.

EDIT - I'm trying out Lookbook again, I'm never quite sure if I like it or not...
