Love at First Sight: Beg Bicycles

Beg
I can't believe that I hadn't heard of Beg Bicyles until this afternoon. I was scrolling through my reader when I saw this new post on Design Sponge. I though to myself "Cute Bicycles, I wish we had more things like that in the UK" only when I clicked onto their site and saw the prices in BPS, I realised they were a British company. Perfect!

If I didn't already own the bicycle of my dreams, I would be fervently scribbling a note to Santa asking for one of these. Thankfully for me alongside these bespoke bicycles they also sell twee accessories. Leather bound flasks, satchels and a plaid picnic blanket perfect for picnics with cake and rose lemonade.

Even if you aren't looking for a new bicycle or fancy accessories, you should still visit their site. It is so beautifully designed and the styling and photography are blissful. If only read life looked like this...

  1. I'm still looking for the perfect bicycle and the pink Bella one seems to be the one - if it weren't that pricy.

  5. This reminds me of the bike I had in Japan! I was hell-bent on getting it back to America because I loved it soo much, but in the end sold it to a friend who has gotten more use out of it. One of these days, I'll get another bike!!

  6. There are so many amazing British bicycle companies! This almost beats out Pashley. Hmmm...

  7. They are great designs. I've always stubbornly said that I prefer the look of a sleek vintage road bike because all the extra add ons (chain guard etc) can feel clunky, but I'm starting to see the appeal of being able to pedal down to the shops without worrying about mud splatter or chain grease getting on my clothes.

  12. Ah, these are gorgeous. I wish we had this kind of company in Australia. I do have a lovely vintage bike, but its too small for me, I don't use it nearly as often as I'd like to!

  22. The cutie coolbox is so sweet!

I'm surprised I didn't come across the site when I was buying a new bike last year, this was the kind of bike I was looking for. I saw the most amazing bike today, it was pink with baby blue mudguards and chainguard. I took a picture, I just couldn't let this bike pass me by without getting a memento!

  23. In fact, it was this one: http://www.pashley.co.uk/products/tube-rider-double-scoop.html

I'm suddenly seeing Pashleys around the place, I wonder if Hull is embracing cycle chic.

  27. Oh, these are so beautiful. I'm kind of bicycle-phobic (I know that's ridiculous, but I fell off a lot when I was a kid and made a solemn vow not to ride bikes any more) but my point is, yes, I want one of these. With a basket. And lemonade in the basket.
