Pyjama Blazer - H&M, Suitcase bag - Vintage
I know what you are thinking. Walking in the woods wearing 6" heels? Yeah right... You are correct, walking in the woods requires flat shoes or even wellington boots but I'm a city girl and deceiving as these pictures might be, they were actually taken right in the middle of the city. That's probably the best part of living in Edinburgh, you are never far from a leafy part or some sort of greenery. I'll admit that venturing off the flat pavement wasn't exactly ideal but I made it out unscathed.
After weeks and weeks of miserable rain the UK has been suddenly bathed in sunshine and I've been making the most of it - baring my pale legs and airing all of the summer frocks that I've been hoarding through the winter. I've been searching for an emerald dress for a long time to no avail and then suddenly this season green is everywhere. I don't like to buy into silly colour trends but I think that this one will long outlive fleeting fashions. The pictures don't really pick it up but the lace is actually laid ontop of a pale rose fabric and beautifully lined in pink satin. A Blair Waldorf dress if ever I saw one.
Now I think it is time to work on tanning these pale Scottish legs!

Heels in the woods? I wouldn't bat an eyelid ;) Haha really though, I cannot wait to visit Edinburgh, hopefully sooner rather than later (hoping to perform at the festival one day). It's the same with my city - never too far from a luscious green field or a park, a perfect combination of urban and countryside (since it's just loads of ancient villages mixed in with new settlements haha!). You look so, so SO marvellous in that dress, and swooning immensely over your bag.

I always liked that about living in Sheffield, you get the city but it's a greener city than most. Love that dress, it's really pretty.
ReplyDeletePerfect spring colours - wandering around in Edinburgh's green spaces on sudden summer days is so lovely. I spent lunchtime yesterday stretched out in a corner of Princes St Gardens... idyllic!

I love your dress here, it has such a lovely print. And those heels are pretty chunky, so I reckon they're probably alright to wear in the woods :p

ReplyDeleteIt would take a lot of convincing for me to wear those shoes in the city let alone the woods! I must practice walking sometime... Then I'd get to wear beautiful shoes like those :)
ReplyDeleteIt would be mine

ReplyDeleteI think this is the most beautiful dress I've seen outside of a vintage shop this year. Gorgeous! High heels in the woods are OK. The mud coating the stiletto gives them a retro feel ;)

ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful dress. I love green. I've been meaning to get one of those blazers for ages. I wore shoes that were a similar height and style to climb over sand dunes this week. It really wasn't my best idea! Xx
ReplyDeleteYou picked a great day to style an emerald lace dress :) PERFECTION! & those heels, HELLO!! lol

Those shoes are stunning! Love the coluor of the dress too - it looks so perfect on you!
ReplyDeleteThat happens a lot to me too here, walking in heels and suddenly finding myself in a green area where my shoes aren't the smartest thing to wear :) But that's why I love Turin so much, turns out it's the greenest town in Italy!
ReplyDeleteYour dress looks lovely, and as for the green it's such a delicate shade that you can be sure you will be wearing it in years to come!

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely shade of green, you look fab!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures, missing your more regular blog posts though....Hope the renovations are nearly done and you can enjoy the new house and share more of your beautiful life with us!
ReplyDeleteWindows to the soul. That's a faye look if ever I saw one. Don't neglect the weight of inner beauty in these Times of salmon rivers, goat paths, and pearls without price. I hear the oil is flowing, from Baby to Olive. Standard life boat procedures. You'll want to be like a star in the sky and not the Hollywood kind.
ReplyDeleteWoah, those are some pretty high shoes! Woods or no woods, I'm just impressed with them. LOVE the dress, the colour looks perfect on you x
