British Apples - Cox Orange Pippin, Egremont Russet and even the humble Bramley Seedling.
Tea and cake at Lovecrumbs. I would highly recommend everything!
Lovecrumbs - 155 West Port, Edinburgh.
October, my favourite month of all. The nights draw in, suddenly the clocks go back and we are plunged into winter. It's time to buy a new coat, make huge pots of soup and knit a scarf. It's time to stockpile and plan for the season ahead because the best is yet to come.
Most of all October is about simple pleasures - crunching through the leaves to buy coffee and walking home again in the drizzle admiring the auburn trees before they are blown off the trees.

new coat + pots of soup + a knitted scarf. Yup, you have the perfect Autumn equation right there.
ReplyDeleteA nice Autumn-y post!

DeleteHmm, what is that interesting-looking metal spike resting on the teacup? I'm intrigued!
ReplyDeleteHi Helen,
DeleteIt's part of the teabag, because they are open and filled with loose tea it makes it easy to scoop out and set aside while you drink. Then you can pop in back in and fill up with hot water from the Thermos flask. There is no such thing as a stewed tea at Lovecrumbs!

Oh wow! I don'T think I've ever seen an apple slicer like that! Although I did see someone peel a potato with a thing like that, then deep frying it and serving it as crisps on a stick. Awesome!
