Each September I romance over the idea of Autumn and Winter but come late January the romance is well and truly over. The days are short, the weather is bleak and Spring is still a long way off.
One of the downfalls of designing is having to mentally live in a different season from the rest of the world. Lately I've been reminiscing over hot summer days and balmy evenings. Reading in the sun, the scent of lavender and basil and my most favourite sound - the pop of a Procecco cork! The less said about Scotland's rain soaked Summers, the better...

I think I'll always be an Autumn/Winter girl - I prefer the weather, the festivities and the fashions - any excuse to wear a scarf. But your summer snaps do make me long for a picnic by a lake!

Oh my, these photos are so lovely. I miss summer too, though I love the snow <3
ReplyDeleteI am exactly the same! As soon as summer really hits I miss layering up and wearing cute scarves and mittens. Fickle indeed.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are so nice! I want to drink Prosecco now! Oh and Pimm's too ;)
ReplyDeleteI looove that look Cait! <3 Definitely need to keep an eye out for a chambray dress now - oh, and some Prosecco too ; )

I'm definitely longing for the winter to be over now- Jan and Feb are the gloomiest months ever! Oh for some lazy sunny afternoons in the park.. xx
ReplyDeleteStunning look...just love your style! That outfit & sunglasses are so nice.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is my pick-me-up. Well it is now anyway, the photography pins summer down to a tee.

Like you, I'm such a total summer girl. Constantly looking for warm, delicious sun (and the next prosecco cork popping!).

ah. summer sounds like a DREAM right now.
ReplyDeleteOh man, this is hard to look at when I'm currently staring at 2ft of snow. Summer days, please! x
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures. They capture the summer feeling perfectly. We don't really have a full on winter where I live so we can pretty much have summer outings in the middle of January. It depends on our bipolar weather. It's so unpredictable.
ReplyDeleteAweaome post! And I love your blog:)

Nice pics..nice outfit.

I get that feeling of having to force you into unseasonal mind sets. As a shop owner, I have to always think ahead and also living in a place with no real seasons can make that difficult, too. On the upside, I feel like I get to have my own seasonal experience though and it almost makes me feel more inspired!
ReplyDeleteI love your sunglasses...you look stylish with that outfit & sunglasses.
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous photos! Makes me want it to be summer already. I love your dress in the top picture, the subtle pattern and bow are cute. Also really like the old marmalade pots for your plants - I tried to grow some in the kitchen but they always die. Just got introduced to your blog by Edinburgh Etiquette so following now, so hello from another Edinburgh blogger :-)

As much as I love how pretty Edinburgh looked in the snow last week I am definitely ready for Winter to be over now. Scottish summers are hardly anything to look forward to but I am looking forward to not having to wear 3 pairs of tights if I don't want my toes to freeze. These photos are beautiful xo
ReplyDeleteYes: autumn, Christmas, I love it all: but come January the magic has gone! I can't wait for lazy afternoons in The Meadows.
ReplyDeletegorgeous photos! you look beautiful as always. I love the colours of autumn
